Jyn Erso was a prisoner on Wobani. She was being transported by the Imperials to her work detail when the transport unexpectedly stops.
Moments later a group of Rebels blow open the tranport's door and storm in to rescue her.
She knobs yes when asked is she wants to get out of there. The moment she is uncuffed, she attacked them and jumped from the prison vehicle, only to be caught mid-air by K2-SO.
As he caught her, K2-SO declared, "Congratulations. You are being rescued. Please do not resist."
Jyn was unsure if she was being rescued or set up to be killed. Like Jyn, people are often confused about whether they are being saved or set up for pain and misery.
Congratulations. You are being rescued. Please do not resist.
People Often Miss The Point
When people are told about Jesus and who to be saved from eternal torment, people often reject the Gospel and do not want to be saved.
They reject God because they want to stay "in control" of their lives.
Unlike K2, we cannot forcibly rescue someone from eternal damnation. How much easier it would be if we could.
Nonetheless, in order to be saved, a person needs to come to faith through an internal decision.
Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
We might be able to force people to "say the words," but if the words are not from the heart, they are empty words. Even worse, these people might believe they are saved because they "said the words and were baptized."
We see Jesus explain in Matthew 7:21, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven."
What Believers Are To Do
When we try to "rescue" someone, we cannot force their conversion.
We must present the Gospel to them and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in their hearts.
In 1 Corinthians 3:6-9, Paul states, "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building."(emphasis added)
In John 16:8, Jesus explains part of the Holy Spirit's role when He proclaims, "And when He [the Holy Spirit] comes, He will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment."
How can we plant and water today?

Movie Rating and Review
The Motion Picture Association gave this movie a rating of PG-13.
As a Christian, there certainly portions of this movie that are the opposite of Philippians 4:8 where Paul tells us, "Finally, brothers [and sisters], whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
I am aware that some of my fellow believers may not watch this film in its entirety. Hopefully, the scene and quote used in this devotional post allows someone to hear a non-believer make reference to this movie or quote and you, my fellow believer, can then use this devotional to bring in the Biblical truth this devotional shares.

My Review
I give this movie a thumbs up and 5 stars.
The ruggedness of this movie and the presence of K2-S0 makes this one of the best Star Wars movies. It perfectly shows how a good story makes a good movie.
